Skype isn’t just for Mystery Skypes

IMG_2944Isn’t amazing in education how often a tool gets used for just one purpose.

For instance, if I say Skype in relation to education, the word mystery often comes up in conversation.

Yet there are more ways Skype can be used to inform learning including that of teachers.

For instance, you see an idea implemented at another school and want to talk it over with colleagues. Rather than tell them your impressions of what you think happened why not video conference with the school involved.

A quick 15 minute conversation with @sherrattsam about a planning dilemma was way more fruitful than me trying to explain what I had seen at a conference I attended back in September.
